The photograph would have been taken before the war and is in Dunston Park. The pavillion in the background was beside the present football pitches.
Middle row second from the left in the photograph is Archie Thompson (Senior) a well known Dunston bowler and member of Wood Street and Dunston Hill Methodist Church for many years. He was a fireman in the Auxilary Fire Service during the Second World War and lived in Holmeside Avenue Dunston until his death. He was married to Hilda Fleetwood who was also a well known and loved methodist and they had a handicapped son "Young Archie" who did all his mother's shopping. He was a real character who knew almost everyone in Dunston and had a phenomenal memory. He now lives in sheltered housing in the grounds of the former Whinney House and still attends Dunston Hill most Sundays.

I have just found this photograph myself and trying to research about the company for my family tree.

Far left middle row is George Nealey (my grandfather). Far right middle row is my great uncle Harold Nealey and next to him is his brother Wilfred Nealey. I would love to know if you have found any other information since the last posting in 2007!

My father Charles Pattison was manager of Atlas Concrete It was taken over and the name changed to ACE CONCRETE PRODUCTS. My father left just after the war to set up his own concrete manufacturing busines in Swalwell called General Concrete products. Archie Thompson and his wife Hilda befriended my parents when they came to Dunston and introduced them to Wood Street Methodist Chapel wher they remained lifetime members. When Wood Street amalgamated with Hexham Road Chapel the babtismal font was made at General Concrete products

My father, Harry Patterson played in the team as goalkeeper. I have two team photographs, one with him and one without. I think he was friends with Micky Veich and the photos seems to be taken slightly later than the one posted on the site.
My fathers friend, Fred Siddle worked for many years for the company as a pattern maker. They lived in Morris Street, Teams.
I will post the pictures when I am registered to the site.
