WPC Dorothy Hall
Portrait of Miss Dorothy Hall, born 1st April 1921, in her Woman's Auxiliary Corps uniform. She joined the WAPC in November 1941 and was stationed at Whickham in a shed behind the Sergeant's house. In 1944 she was moved to Barnard Castle.

I joined the police service in 1969. Dorothy was a clerk at Whickham Police Station court department. Dorothy was a wealth of knowledge of a the district she was confidential and worked to get things right a pleasure to work with.
Dorothy lived at Watergate estate in Whickham

Dorothy was born on 1st September, 1921. After the war she worked at Felling police station, followed by some years at Whickham before transferring to Gateshead, from where she retired after forty years service.
