Dunston Hill (The Pensions) Hospital.
Dunston Hill Hospital (known at one time as the "Pensions Hospital) had many casualties from the First and Second World Wars. Unfortunately this was the place where many would spend the rest of their lives. These old soldiers still wore their distinctive blue suits which clearly marked them out right up until the 1950s.

Thoroughly enjoyed my browse round your site.
I have been researching my family history.
My grandfather's death certificate stateshe died in Ministry Pensions,Dunston Hill Hospital in 1948. He had fought in both wars. He was only 49 when he died.
Sites like this are great for the family historian being able to get information and build some sort of picture of their life.
