I see no mention of the Robson Bros. who were part of the Venture Bus Co. and operated in the High Spen area.-Ex-employee

Ted, Thanks for your comment. We have now included a little about the Robson Bros. in the article headed Venture Bus Company. Our website is about the old Whickham Urban District Council area and so does not give information about places such as High Spen which are outside that area.

Do you know the names of the sons and Edward Reed's wife/spouse. One of my ancestors was a Edward Reed born @ Marley Hill probably around 1850. The Edward Reed above is the only one I can find in thius aea unless you know different.

Edward Reed,s wife was called Alice, They had 5 girls and 5 boys - one was called Edward(Ned) 1888-1947. He had a butcher,s shop on Gateshead Road, Sunniside.(Now an Art Gallery and Coffee Shop). Perhaps your ancestor, who was born in 1850, is the father of Edward who came from Haydon Bridge.

I am the great grandson of Edward Reed (born 1850) and Anne Alice Rotherford. My grandmother was Hannah Reed Martin. Any information about the Reed family that stills exists in England would be appreciated. I have 2 oil paintings that Robert Michael Reed which my grandmother brought to the States and I inherited them.
