Dunston - Stokoe Square
There is a record of a Bethany Wesleyan Chapel in Stokoe Square from 1885 through until 1911 but we have no further information apart from these photographs which show "Residents of Stokoe Square on a rowing boat outing to Ryton Willows in the thirties." and "Lilly Veitch with Bobby the fishman in the Square in the thirties with Mrs Robson in the background." Perhaps someone can help us?
But see Comment below.

Re photo of Stokoe Square group, I have a copy listing back row as Ena Parker, Bobby, Lily Veitch.
front row, Mr & Mrs Smith, Mr Walton:- this could be either my father Bob Walton or I think more likely his elder brother Israel. They lived at No. 5. Their parents were 'Soldier' Bob Walton (he was born 1845 at Barlow-served in the army on the North West Frontier (Khyber Pass) and was a noted herbalist, he drowned in the Tyne in 1917. Jane Ann, was born in Hexham and lived in Holly Avenue, died in her mid-nineties.
